About the Role
This is a newly created opportunity supporting a recently awarded, large-scale contract within a nationally significant transport hub. You will be part of a highly visible team where your work directly contributes to safety, reliability, and the overall experience of thousands of daily users.
BGIS is seeking an experienced Plumber to deliver essential plumbing and hydraulic maintenance services across a major, high-traffic aviation precinct in Mascot. Reporting to the Facilities Management team, you will work collaboratively with both client and BGIS teams to ensure critical water, drainage, sewer, and gas systems remain safe, reliable, and fully operational in a 24/7 environment. This role plays a key part in maintaining continuous operations and minimising disruption across a highly visible site. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, solutions-focused, and confident working in fast-paced environments where responsiveness, communication, and attention to detail are essential.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on plumbing and hydraulic systems
  • Maintain and repair water, sewer, drainage, and gas infrastructure
  • Diagnose and resolve faults including leaks, blockages, and pressure issues
  • Respond to reactive maintenance and urgent incidents within required timeframes
  • Accurately complete and manage work orders using CMMS systems (e.g. Maximo)
  • Ensure compliance with WHS, plumbing regulations, and environmental standards
  • Collaborate with Facilities Managers and other trades to support smooth operations
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and system reliability initiatives
  • Participate in a 24/7 shift-based roster, including nights and weekends
Your Education, Experience & Skills
Essential
  • Trade qualification as a licensed Plumber
  • Current NSW Plumbing Licence
  • Proven experience maintaining plumbing/hydraulic systems in commercial, industrial, or infrastructure environments
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving capability
  • Experience with preventative and reactive maintenance practices
  • Familiarity with CMMS/work order systems
  • Solid understanding of WHS, plumbing compliance, and environmental standards
  • Ability to work within a shift-based, high-demand environment
  • Strong communication and collaborative working style
Desirable
  • Experience in aviation, transport, or critical infrastructure environments
  • ASIC clearance (or willingness to obtain)

  • This role is based fully on-site within a major aviation precinct in Mascot, supporting continuous 24/7 operations.
