The opportunity

Our Federal Government client is seeking two experienced Business Analysts to join a Product Management Office supporting the sustainment and continuous improvement of complex ICT mission systems.

The successful candidates will work closely with product managers and stakeholders to assess how existing systems operate, identify opportunities for improvement and develop recommendations and roadmaps for future technology changes.

These roles will support informed investment and product-management decisions by analysing operational requirements, evaluating solution options, identifying benefits and risks, and building agreement across business and technical stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate and analyse ICT operational requirements, issues and opportunities.
• Produce recommendations and options for business consideration.
• Assess existing systems and processes to identify improvement opportunities.
• Support product managers in maximising the value of current ICT investments.
• Contribute to future technology and product roadmaps.
• Select and apply appropriate business-analysis methods, tools and techniques.
• Analyse stakeholder objectives and underlying business problems.
• Develop artefacts defining benefits, options, risks and proposed changes.
• Assess business risks and develop practical mitigation strategies.
• Support the development of specifications and acceptance criteria.
• Engage and consult with diverse business and technical stakeholders.
• Facilitate collaboration and agreement on requirements, priorities and solutions.
• Support implementation of new or revised business processes and ICT capabilities.

Essential requirements

• Demonstrated experience delivering business analysis within complex ICT environments.
• Experience investigating operational requirements, problems and opportunities.
• Ability to develop evidence-based solution options and recommendations.
• Experience analysing business benefits, risks and implementation considerations.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, workshop facilitation and communication skills.
• Experience developing clear business-analysis artefacts and acceptance criteria.
• Ability to work effectively with product managers and multidisciplinary ICT teams.
• Capability aligned with SFIA Business Analysis - BUAN Level 4.
• Australian citizenship.
• A current TSPV security clearance.

Desirable experience

• Defence ICT or geospatial-intelligence environment experience.
• Cloud migration experience.
• Product management or ICT sustainment experience.
• Experience developing technology or product roadmaps.

Additional information

Minimal domestic travel may be required.
