Make a Real Difference with a Simple Walk - Walking companion, North Turramurra

Do you have an hour to spare each week and enjoy being outdoors? <\/b>
<\/p>

We are looking for a caring and reliable volunteer to accompany one of our residents on walks in her wheelchair around the local area.<\/b>
<\/p>

<\/p>

For this resident, spending time outside is one of life's greatest pleasures. Being outside in the fresh air and sunshine brings her enormous joy and make a significant difference to her wellbeing.<\/b>
<\/p>

Following a stroke, her communication has become more limited, but she still enjoys company and connection. A friendly smile, shared observations, and simply being present can help build a meaningful relationship.<\/b>
<\/p>

No experience is necessary.<\/b> Full training, support, and orientation will be provided.
<\/p>

What you'll do:<\/b>

• Take a resident for regular wheelchair walks in the local community

• Provide companionship and social connection

• Help bring enjoyment, stimulation, and a sense of freedom to her day

    Requirements<\/h3>\n

    \n Monday or Wednesday between 10:30\-11:30am (weekly or fortnightly visits welcome).

    \n Role and cottage placement suited to applicants aged 18 years and over.
    \n <\/div>\n

    \n NDIS Worker Screening Check (if you do not currently hold a valid clearance, we will arrange and cover the cost of obtaining one as part of the onboarding process).
