As a Registered Nurse, you'll be supported by experienced Team Managers, Clinical Coordinators and senior clinicians who are committed to your professional development. What You Will Be Doing
As a Registered Nurse within Newcastle Community Mental Health Service, you will provide high-quality, recovery-focused nursing care to consumers experiencing a range of mental health conditions.
Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, you will:
- Deliver comprehensive mental health assessments and nursing interventions.
- Develop, implement and evaluate person-centred care plans in partnership with consumers, families and carers.
- Provide care coordination and ongoing clinical support to consumers in the community.
- Build therapeutic relationships that promote recovery, wellbeing and independence.
- Liaise with psychiatrists, allied health professionals, GPs and external agencies to ensure coordinated care.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
- Work both independently and collaboratively to deliver safe, evidence-based mental health care.
About you
We're looking for a compassionate and motivated Registered Nurse who is passionate about mental health and committed to supporting consumers on their recovery journey.
Our ideal candidate will have:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
- Demonstrated experience working across a range of mental health clinical settings.
- Strong clinical assessment, communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work confidently both autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
- A commitment to recovery-oriented, person-centred and evidence-based practice.
- A positive attitude, sound clinical judgement and a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of consumers and their families.
