About the role

An exciting opportunity is available to join Ampol Petroleum Distributors as a Transport Operations Manager based in Kwinana, WA. You will oversee the safe and compliant operation of the Perth and Albany depot.

This includes overseeing the Transport fleet, Administration team and unmanned diesel stops, while managing SME customer relationships. Leading the administration team and tanker drivers, you will ensure efficient bulk fuel deliveries that meets customer expectations and drives strong performance across financial, legislative, and HSE outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the Perth and Albany depot, ensuring compliance with Ampol and regulatory requirements

  • Manage bulk tanker and lubricants operations, including overseeing scheduling, delivery performance, and cost efficiency

  • Maintain asset reliability through effective repairs, maintenance, and capital works programs

  • Build strong SME customer relationships, drive customer service excellence, and identify new business opportunities

  • Monitor financial performance to drive profitability and identify cost and margin improvements

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team through coaching, delegation, and role modelling Ampol's values

  • Champion safety, compliance, and continuous improvement, ensuring adherence to all HSE and regulatory requirements

About you

A people focused leader who actively drives a strong, positive culture and fosters high performance through engagement, clear direction and accountability. Solutions focused with a continuous improvement mindset, consistently identifying and implementing operational efficiencies to improve service delivery and business outcomes. Brings hands on leadership experience, ideally from a small to medium enterprise environment, the ability to execute day to day operations with excellence. Highly effective in stakeholder and customer management.

Qualification & Experience

  • Current Driver's Licence (essential)

  • Qualifications in Business, Logistics/Transport, or Marketing (desirable)

  • Experience in supply chain/operations management, customer service, and people leadership

  • Knowledge of petroleum transport legislation, including OH&S, environmental, and trade compliance requirements

  • Understanding of Dangerous Goods Code and transport regulations, with exposure to heavy vehicle fleet operations (desirable)

  • Strong commercial, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a focus on performance outcomes

  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally, with high energy, resilience, and a calm approach under pressure

  • Strong computer skills, highly self-motivated with a strong customer service focus
