This role is responsible for simulating, planning and treating patients with ionising radiation in a timely and efficient manner whilst maintaining technical radiation therapy standards. Working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will operate radiation therapy equipment safely in accordance with radiation safety and workplace health and safety requirements. Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills will be crucial as you engage with patients, carers, staff members and students.
Our department has recently purchased upgraded IGRT capabilities with Varian HyperSight imaging and Eclipse TPS including RapidArc Dynamic, complimented with cRAD SGRT across all modalities. What you will bring to the role
- Bachelor's degree in medical Radiation Science (Radiation Therapy) or Bachelor of Applied Science or qualification deemed equivalent by employer; General Registration as a Medical Radiation Therapist by Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Authority and holder of IA13 and S13 Radiation User Licence (NSW EPA Licence).
- Demonstrate independent and significant recent professional knowledge, judgement and experience to acquire and exhibit competence in all aspects of appropriate clinical tasks.
- Recent and demonstrated experience and technical skills in advanced Planning techniques, incorporating multi-modality image registration for techniques such as IMRT and VMAT.
- Demonstrated evidence of contribution to a high functioning team that encourages collaboration, participation, and respect in shared team goals.
- Dedicated commitment in providing a high level of individual patient care with an understanding of patient needs and psychology, as well as work health and safety issues (e.g. manual handling).
- Open and friendly communicator with demonstrated communication skills in written, verbal, and electronic formats.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience within the multi-disciplinary team of more complex modalities including quality assurance and improvement, work health and safety and radiation safety.
- Demonstrated significant ongoing commitment in Continuing Education and Professional Development of self and others, including students to satisfy accreditation through AHPRA as per the MRPB requirements.
