What you'll be doing
This permanent full-time position is based within the Specialist Management Acute Rehabilitation Treatment (SMART) inpatient team, primarily supporting patients with neurological conditions while also providing assistance across cardiology, general surgery, haematology, trauma, respiratory and oncology services. You'll play an important role supporting Occupational Therapists and the broader multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, person-centred care.
In this role you will be required to:
Assist Occupational Therapists with patient-related clinical activities to support rehabilitation and functional outcomes.
Provide clinical and administrative support to ensure the efficient day-to-day operation of the Occupational Therapy department.
Work collaboratively with the SMART multidisciplinary team across inpatient, outpatient and community services.
Support equipment management, patient programs and service delivery initiatives.
Contribute to quality improvement activities while delivering compassionate, patient-centred care.

Selection Criteria
Certificate III or Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance/relevant qualification or willingness to undertake this training (includes willingness to undertake additional discipline competencies)
Demonstrated previous experience working in a health related area and demonstrated ability to work as a contributing member of a team
Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate across all levels with internal and external stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload delegated by supervising Occupational Therapist, meet deadline and complete activities within scope of practice seeking assistance as required
Demonstrated experience in planning, implementation and evaluation of group activities
Demonstrated skills in sewing and producing adapted equipment and orthotics as requested by Occupational Therapists
Demonstrated computer literacy skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office and email applications
Current Drivers Licence valid within Australia
