Software Engineer (Autonomous Hauling and Fleet Management System)

Wenco has R&D offices located in Australia and Canada, and this specific role is based in Brisbane, Australia.

We are looking for three (3) full-time Software Engineers to help drive quality and accelerate the development of our flagship Fleet Management System. Reporting to the Software Development Manager, you'll join our Agile team and leverage your expertise expertise to deliver modern software solutions and enhance our suite of enterprise applications. This role is open to both Intermediate and Senior Software Engineers.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise applications and services in a Windows platform environment
  • Work collaboratively with our infrastructure and other internal teams to drive architecture modernization
  • Join our on-call rotation to support key deployments of our system in Australia and abroad
  • Champion critical technical initiatives and help sustain our culture of continuous improvement and growth

Qualifications & Skills

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as an Intermediate or Senior Software Developer
  • Strong background in C++ or C#, with an interest in becoming effective in both
  • Experience maintaining production software spanning desktop, web, and backend services
  • Proficient across the entire development lifecycle including design, automated testing, deployment, and monitoring
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps
  • Experience using Kanban or Scrum methodologies

Nice to Have

  • Experience maintaining or modernizing legacy .NET applications
  • Experience in the mining industry or related sectors
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS
  • Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes

Education & Eligibility

  • Bachelor's degree in computing science or engineering
  • Eligible to work in Australia
  • This role may require some international travel (<15%)
