What you'll be doing
The primary purpose of the Senior Resident Medical Officer (SRMO) in the Emergency Department and Hospital Wards at Sydney / Sydney Eye Hospital is to provide clinical care, under appropriate supervision, to patients requiring emergency, inpatient and outpatient medical services in a complex clinical environment. This position will provide experience in a critical care environment and have responsibilities and opportunities for autonomous practice commensurate with the level of experience of the incumbent.

The SRMO is responsible for co-ordinating and documenting the admission, management and discharge planning of patients within the Unit; the day-to-day assessment and management of the patients, maintaining high levels of communication with patients and family regarding the nature of their condition and its treatment; communicating and co-ordinating care with the team; arranging consultation with other staff when appropriate; and arranging discharge and liaising with local medical officers and other community based care modalities in order to ensure the provision of optimal patient care within South Eastern Sydney Local Health District.
