Your new role:

We are seeking a motivated team member to join us in a part-time role 19 hours per week, Monday to Friday. We can offer flexibility in how these hours are worked, with the opportunity to negotiate a roster that suits both you and the needs of the service.

The Sutherland Hospital Clinical Governance Unit supports patient-centred care to deliver exceptional care and healthier lives.

Our team has a focus to protect the public from harm and improve the quality of care to patients, provide quality assurance, governance and risk management and to ensure expected standards of safety and quality are met, support quality activities to continue to improve what do.

What you'll be doing:

The Manager Clinical Policy will lead and facilitate the effective governance of the clinical business rules process across TSH; provide high level advice to clinicians and managers on clinical business rules, procedures and guidelines; provide administrative, technical and educational assistance in the development and maintenance of the clinical documents process ensuring they reflect current practice, are evidence based and monitored; support relevant clinical projects; collaborate with the Nurse Manager Clinical Policy at SGH.

Selection Criteria:

  1. Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Professional Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with an extensive experience in the health care system
  2. High level written and verbal communication and negotiation skills and an ability to work efficiently with others to solve problems
  3. Demonstrated analytical and interpersonal skills, self-direction and initiative to achieve organisational and professional outcomes
  4. Demonstrated experience and well-developed skills in policy development, review, implementation, and evaluation, with a high level of attention to detail in preparing and finalising documentation.
  5. Proven ability to coordinate several simultaneous projects and to meet designated time frames
  6. Highly developed computer skills with strong data collection, record management and data problem solving skills including proficiency in the use of the health and record management systems for example TRIM, ims+ and Microsoft software packages
  7. Proven ability to provide effective leadership/decision-making in clinical issues management; and leadership qualities and ability to motivate staff and generate networks
  8. Demonstrated knowledge, understanding and commitment to quality and risk management.
