Why Your Role Matters

The Compliance Assistant, International Student Compliance provides essential administrative support to the International Student Compliance team within the Pro Vice-Chancellor Education & Student Experience portfolio.

This role supports core compliance processes for international students across their student lifecycle, including maintaining accurate records, assisting with Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) processes, supporting PRISMS reporting, and responding to student enquiries.

Working as part of a supportive team, you will help ensure international student records and processes are accurate, timely, and aligned with legislative requirements, including the ESOS Act and National Code. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build experience in student administration, compliance, and international education within a university environment.

The role reports to the Manager, International Student Compliance and has no direct reports. Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide administrative support to the International Student Compliance team

  • Maintain accurate spreadsheets, records, databases, and student information

  • Respond to student enquiries, including CoE and student visa-related enquiries, and escalate matters where required

  • Support CoE processes, including issuing new or revised Confirmation of Enrolments

  • Assist with PRISMS reporting and ESOS compliance activities

  • Provide clear and appropriate information to students from diverse backgrounds

  • Organise work effectively to meet deadlines and support positive team outcomes

About You

You are a reliable and organised person who takes pride in accurate work and is comfortable with routine, detail-focused tasks. You bring a careful approach to your work, communicate clearly, and are comfortable managing multiple tasks in a busy environment.

You will come with:

  • Previous experience in higher education - ideally in an admin support, student support, education, compliance, or customer service environment

  • Excellent attention to detail, including accurate record keeping, data entry, and reporting

  • Great written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate confidently with stakeholders across the University

  • Good organisational skills with the ability to manage competing tasks and meet deadlines

  • Experience with systems such as PRISMS would be highly regarded

The team operates in a hybrid environment (3 days in the office, 2 days home); however, the successful candidate will be expected to work onsite for the first few weeks during training and onboarding.
