Systems Administrator I

Reporting to the IT Director, the Systems Administrator role is responsible for the secure operation, maintenance, and administration of end-user systems and cloud services. They will operate in a cloud-first, security-focused environments aligned with ISO 27001 controls and ensure confidentiality, integrity and availability (CIA) with full audit traceability.

Key Deliverables and Responsibilities:

  • Provide Tier 1–2 support and manage ITSM tickets with SLA adherence
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation and contribute to knowledge base
  • Administer Microsoft Entra ID (MFA, Conditional Access, SSO)
  • Manage onboarding/offboarding and perform access reviews
  • Support privileged access management and RBAC enforcement
  • Administer Intune/JAMF (Autopilot, compliance, app deployment)
  • Monitor and remediate non-compliant devices
  • Support Microsoft 365 (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint)
  • Support security operations (Defender alerts, incident triage)
  • Maintain infrastructure (AD, DNS, DHCP, virtualization)
  • Administer backups and perform restore testing
  • Execute change management procedures with approvals
  • Maintain asset lifecycle and inventory tracking
  • Develop PowerShell automation scripts
  • Produce audit evidence and support compliance activities

Experience and Knowledge

  • Bachelor of Information Technology or relevant work experience
  • 2+ years Helpdesk / SysAdmin experience
  • Microsoft 365 and Entra ID administration
  • Intune (required), JAMF (asset)
  • Windows and Active Directory fundamentals
  • Basic networking knowledge
  • Backup solutions (Veeam or equivalent)
  • Basic PowerShell scripting

Security and Compliance

  • Understanding of MFA, Conditional Access, least privilege
  • Patch and vulnerability management
  • Security monitoring and incident response basics
  • ISO 27001 awareness preferred
