About the role

We are seeking a Lead Project Engineer to support the engineering, development and successful delivery of the SEA-1350 program, delivering a Fixed and Mobile Undersea Tracking Range to support test and evaluation of surface and undersea assets.

The Lead Project Engineer is responsible to ensure agreed Engineering Processes within their assigned project are followed. Where applicable deviation from process is discussed through the discipline leads and relevant project managers, thus supporting the overall governance of the Engineering Processes within IMSA.

Day to day duties include, but are not limited to; manage and oversee the production and delivery of supporting engineering documentation and products/system across the project lifecycle, in accordance with the defined Contracted Data Requirement List (CDRL) and/or agreed engineering deliverables. Ensuring L3Harris IMSA WHS obligations are met. Manage and oversee the safety case that certifies system compliance with contract and regulatory safety requirements.

Occasional travel to and from customer sites will be required.

About you

To be successful in this role, some skills & experience ideal applicants will bring include;

  • Tertiary qualifications in an Engineering or Scientific discipline

  • Hold and maintain an NV1 Australian Defence Clearance
  • Knowledge of Maritime and Naval platforms desirable

  • 5+ years' or more experience practicing in a Senior Engineering position within the Project/Systems Engineering discipline fields.
  • Experienced in managing a team of engineers across multiple disciplines
  • Supplier/sub-contractor relationship management experience

  • ASDEFCON and EVM process knowledge
