Roster: 7 Days On, 7 Days Off (Permanent Day Shift)
Employment Type: Fulltime Permanent

Please note: This is a residential role in Geraldton. Applicants must currently reside in Geraldton to be considered.

We're looking for an experienced Team Lead - Port Maintenance to lead our day shift maintenance team at our Geraldton Port Operations.

In this hands-on leadership role, you'll coordinate the safe and efficient delivery of planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance across our fixed plant assets, helping maximise equipment reliability and plant performance.

You'll provide regular field leadership across the port, overseeing maintenance activities on conveyors, truck unloading facilities, ship loading systems and other fixed plant infrastructure, while working closely with Operations, Maintenance Planning and contractors to minimise downtime and keep the operation running safely.

You'll also lead and develop your team, coordinate shutdowns, respond to equipment breakdowns, promote a strong safety culture and drive continuous improvement initiatives that support the reliable operation of our port facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the day shift maintenance team, fostering a strong safety-first culture.
  • Coordinate planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance activities across fixed plant assets.
  • Prioritise daily maintenance tasks to maximise equipment reliability and plant availability.
  • Ensure all maintenance work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Work closely with Operations, Maintenance Planning and contractors to minimise downtime.
  • Monitor contractor performance and ensure work complies with company and statutory requirements.
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance performance and reliability.

Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Australian recognised Mechanical Trade Qualification.
  • Demonstrated experience leading maintenance teams within fixed plant mining, ports or bulk materials handling operations.
  • Strong knowledge of conveyor systems, bulk materials handling equipment and fixed plant maintenance.
  • Experience coordinating planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical maintenance principles and equipment reliability.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise work in a dynamic operational environment.
  • Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Current C Class Driver's Licence.

Desirable

  • Frontline Leadership qualification.
  • High Risk Work Licences.
  • First Aid qualification.
  • ICAM Incident Investigation.
  • Experience in using MEX. Desirable but not essential
  • Working at Heights and Confined Space certification.
  • Meet all pre-employment requirements, including medical, drug and alcohol screening, and National Police Clearance.
