Our Branch The Sport and Recreation Branch plays a key role in supporting active, healthy and connected communities across Brisbane. The Branch works across planning, partnerships and service delivery to enable inclusive access to sport and recreation opportunities for people of all ages and abilities. Through collaboration with community organisations, clubs and internal stakeholders, the team helps create welcoming places and programs that encourage participation, wellbeing and social connection, while supporting the sustainable use of Council's sport and recreation assets. The Role This is an exciting opportunity to lead the delivery and expansion of community programs that encourage Brisbane residents to live active, healthy and connected lives. Working across a diverse portfolio, you will oversee program planning, delivery, evaluation, reporting and continuous improvement while ensuring services remain accessible, inclusive and responsive to community needs. The role combines program and project management, staff and financial leadership and stakeholder engagement. You will manage competing priorities, coordinate suppliers and contractors, oversee procurement and invoicing activities, and build strong relationships across Council and the community to achieve positive program outcomes. To be successful you will have: demonstrated experience leading and delivering health and wellbeing programs or projects in a complex environment strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence positive outcomes experience managing procurement, contracts, supplier relationships and associated financial processes for large scale health and welling initiatives ability to manage competing priorities, make sound decisions under pressure and respond effectively to changing business needs High level proficiency using Council's Supplier Management system Ariba. High level proficiency using Council's website program Trumba.
