Student Engagement and Success at the University of Notre Dame Australia brings together three national teams that work together to improve the student experience from start to finish. Student Life supports students as they transition into university, stay engaged, and take part in the student community. Student Success helps students achieve their goals through learning support, career development and scholarships. Student Wellbeing provides tailored, holistic support to help students stay healthy, supported and engaged with their studies.

About the role

The Strategic Projects Manager (Student Engagement and Success) drives the design and delivery of transformative university-wide initiatives that enhance student wellbeing, mental health and disability inclusion. As a key member of the Student Engagement and Success leadership team, the role shapes strategic frameworks, fosters meaningful collaboration across the university and leads evidence-informed, student-centred initiatives across the University community. By aligning initiatives with the University's strategic priorities, the position plays a critical role in advancing student success and belonging. The role reports to the Director, Student Engagement and Success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic projects that enhance student wellbeing, mental health, disability access and inclusion across the University.
  • Manage end-to-end project delivery, including project planning, timelines, budgets, risk management, governance and performance monitoring.
  • Develop key University frameworks, including the Student Mental Health and Wellbeing Framework and Disability Access and Inclusion Plan, using evidence-based, student-centred and trauma-informed approaches.
  • Engage and collaborate with stakeholders, including senior leaders, staff, students and external partners, to provide strategic advice and build support for initiatives.
  • Facilitate consultation and communication, ensuring diverse student voices, including those with lived experience, inform project development and implementation.
  • Monitor progress and ensure compliance by preparing executive reports, managing risks, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring adherence to legislation and University policies.

Qualifications, skills & experience

  • Postgraduate qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
  • Demonstrated experience leading strategic change and implementing large-scale institutional frameworks.
  • Strong project management skills, delivering complex projects on time and to a high standard.
  • Demonstrated experience in evidence-based program development, using data and best practice to enhance student wellbeing outcomes.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across teams and with senior leaders.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills, with the ability to use data, manage multiple priorities and align projects with institutional goals.
