Our Brisbane Infrastructure team is entering an exciting growth phase, driven by newly awarded highprofile projects and forwardthinking workforce planning. As a result, we're looking for a Senior Highways Engineer to play a key role in delivering major transport projects within our multidisciplinary consultancy. You'll bring strong experience in the roads and highways sector, particularly with DTMR, and apply both your technical expertise and leadership capability to help strengthen and expand our Roads & Highways team.

Key responsibilities of your role will include:

  • Supervising civil engineering design for freeways, intersections, bulk earthworks, roads and rail

  • Preparing, reviewing and checking engineering calculations, technical specifications, data sheets and reports

  • Reviewing and checking engineering drawings

  • Providing input to engineering, operating and cost estimates

  • Leading in and contributing to design reviews

  • Leading designs from tender through feasibility to detailed design

  • Client/Stakeholder management

  • Managing commercial aspects of projects

  • Assisting with bidding and tenders

  • Mentoring junior staff

About you:

The ideal candidate will have proven experience coordinating, designing, and delivering road projects in Queensland for DTMR as part of multidisciplinary teams, supported by a civil engineering degree from a recognised tertiary institution. They will demonstrate strong safety awareness, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a collaborative, inclusive approach to working with others. Their technical background will include expertise in bulk earthworks, site grading, surface water management, access and haul roads, freeways, and earth structures. Registration as an RPEQ or CPEng will be highly regarded.
