Position Summary

Reporting to the Managing Director, ANZ, you will deliver world-class service to our Customers by managing and delivering innovative capital projects across multiple facilities and technologies within the STERIS Healthcare portfolio.

You will ensure project teams and stakeholders embrace STERIS values, including Safety, Quality, Customer Satisfaction, and Operational Effectiveness, while overseeing project budgets, capital and operational expenditures, quality performance, and Health & Safety compliance. You will lead project teams, plan and allocate resources, monitor project progress and KPIs, and keep stakeholders informed throughout the project lifecycle.

Through effective leadership and execution, you will continuously contribute to successful customer outcomes and the achievement of STERIS business imperatives.

What You Will Do

  • Determine and define project scope and objectives in line with company goals with key milestones and deliverables.
  • Assemble, define roles and responsibilities, and manage cross-functional project teams.
  • Define communication, management, risk and change management approach during project initiation.
  • Continuously create and update project plans and forecast for schedule, cost, scope, and quality KPIs
  • Lead and Mentor the Project Office Team in executing all planned deliverables, KPI's, as well as the ability to plan and deliver projects directly with the Customer and required parties.
  • Identify and assess risks and issues / manage accordingly.
  • Plan and allocate resources needed to reach objectives, manage them effectively and efficiently.
  • Identify vendors and suppliers, manage contracts, assign tasks, and communicate expected timelines.
  • Collaborate with internal business partners to prepare tender submissions, request, and supervise project budget, capital investments and expenses for field of competence (contracts, parts, services).
  • Ensure all appropriate activity is captured in CRM and reporting requirements are submitted on time.
  • Collect and monitor project progress to ensure continuous improvement in line with STERIS world class safety objectives and the Quality management system, utilising appropriate validation documentation (e.g., change controls) where necessary.
  • Identification and communication to internal and external project stakeholders
  • Utilise industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution both.
  • Measure project performance against KPI's at project close-out to define success and identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure that project teams operate within and towards the published STERIS Corporate vision and global objectives, including LEAN, 5S, Sustainability and One Team One Goal strategies.
  • KOL development in the area of Pre-Tender; namely Architects, Builders and consultants.

The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering
  • Solid experience in CAPEX project management within the medical equipment or healthcare industry.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and perform effectively under pressure.
  • Good understanding of the principle of continuous improvements; familiarity with LEAN principles is a plus.
  • Project Management certification (PMP or equivalent) is an advantage.
