The Role
As a Casual Education Assistant, you will support Communicare Academy Teachers to deliver educational programs and assist students to achieve their academic, social, emotional, and behavioural goals in a safe and inclusive learning environment. In addition, you will:
Participate in and contribute to Academy professional development programs and improvement initiatives
Provide input on best practice for students with special needs
Engage with parents/guardians/carers and other key stakeholders under the supervision of the classroom teacher
Assist students individually and in small groups with learning activities
Create safe relationships with students, build confidence and self-esteem in students and maintain strong professional boundaries
Shows care for students' educational needs and work with them and the teacher to identify which strategies are useful for their success
This is a casual position and is located at Communicare Academy in Kenwick.
About You
The successful applicants will possess:
Minimum of Certificate III in Education Support or extensive relevant experience
Ability to develop, implement and report on individual learning programs
Working knowledge of disabilities, including, but not limited to, autism, dyslexia, ADHD, ODD
Experience in engaging with, motivating and inspiring at risk, disengaged young people
High level computer skills
Valid Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance (not older than 6 months from the issue date)
Proven positive classroom behaviour management
Team-oriented mindset and excellent interpersonal skills
