Our Legal & Contracts team plays a vital role inenabling this work by providing expert contract support and general legaladvice to researchers and professional services teams across the Institute. Wenow have an exciting opportunity for a Corporate and Contracts Lawyer to joinour established team.

In this variedand dynamic role, you will support the Legal & Contracts Manager to identifyand progress collaborations and commercial opportunities for ourworld-renowned researchers. You will be responsible for the development,review, negotiation and effective management of research and commercialcontracts. The position also works closely with the Senior Lawyer to providehigh quality, commercially focused legal advice to Institute staff across a broadrange of areas including contracts, IP, technology, legislation and compliance.

Key responsibilities:

• Act as a legal business partner to research themes and teams within the Institute to facilitate research projects and manage legal risk.
• Deliver efficient and high-quality legal and contracting services.
• Prepare and review a wide range of research, funding and general commercial contracts and arrangements.
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to provide legal advice and ensure compliance with relevant legislation, Institute standards and policies.
• Advise on effect of contractual terms and conditions, including rights and obligations and commercial risks of a contract.

Based in our offices within Perth Children's Hospital inNedlands, this afull-time permanent position.The Kids Research Institute Australia supports flexible working arrangements and for the right candidate the position may beoffered as a part-time role.

AboutYou

The ideal applicant will have a tertiary qualification inlaw and practical experience in contract or commercial law. You will be able to thrive in a dynamicenvironment and engage with a wide range of people in order to manage challengeswith consideration and professionalism. You will also demonstrate:

• Contract development and negotiation experience.
• Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, flexibility and ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
• Ability to analyse information to provide well-informed recommendations and guidance to resolve complex issues/problems.
• Ability to be self-motivated and work autonomously as well as part of a team, with a flexible, positive and collaborative approach.
• Medical research industry experience is highly desirable.
