ICT Business Analyst

The Opportunity

As we further develop our Research Strategy, we now have an exciting opportunity for an ICT BusinessAnalyst to join our Information Communication Technology team. This newly created role will play a key rolein delivering a major enterprise system implementation that will transform howwe support our research community. Working closely with researchers, clinicalpartners and technical teams, you will translate business requirements intopractical technology solutions while contributing to our broader digitaltransformation program, including cloud migration, research data platforms andcybersecurity initiatives.

You will translate complex scientificworkflows, operational processes and strategic requirements into clear,structured and actionable technology solutions ensuring every system we buildor buy genuinely improves research outcomes and, ultimately, the lives ofchildren and their families. Working across a portfolio of high-impactinitiatives - from cloud research platforms and genomics data systems toenterprise applications and clinical integrations - you will bring intellectualcuriosity, rigour and a genuine commitment to our Research Reimagined vision.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead structured discovery engagements with research teams, clinicians, operations staff and external partners to elicit, validate and document business requirements.
  
• Translate scientific and operational workflows and processes into functional and non-functional requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria.
  
• Facilitate workshops, interviews and observation sessions with diverse stakeholders from principal investigators and theme leaders to ICT engineers, SMEs and vendors.
  
• Develop or support the development of business cases, feasibility assessments and cost-benefit analyses to support technology investment decisions.
  
• Support data analysis activities including requirements for research data pipelines, LIMS integrations, Research Systems, and cloud analytics platforms.
  

Based in our offices within Perth Children's Hospital in Nedlands,this part-time (0.5 FTE) position will be offered for an 18-month period.

About You

The successful candidate will hold a relevanttertiary qualification in a field such as Information Systems, ComputerScience, Business or a related field. CBAP, IIBA certification or equivalent isdesirable. You will also demonstrate:

• Experience as a Business Analyst in complex, multi-stakeholder environments, ideally within research, health, higher education or government sectors.
  
• Strong skills in requirements elicitation, process mapping, use case development and user story writing.
  
• Experience working across both software/application projects and data or infrastructure initiatives.
  
• Proficiency with BA tools such as Jira, Confluence, Visio or similar.
  
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage audiences from scientists to IT engineers.
