About us
Australian Red Cross is part of the world’s largest humanitarian organisation. Our aim is to improve the lives of the most vulnerable people in Australia, especially those affected by bushfire, flood and other disasters.
Every in-store purchase supports our Australian Red Cross teams to help people as they overcome hardship, crisis and disaster here at home and across the Asia Pacific.
About the role
As the Flagship Store Manager, you’ll provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for a highperforming, communitydriven retail environment. Your responsibilities include setting direction, optimising performance, and ensuring the store operates as an efficient, customercentred hub that reflects Red Cross values. Partnering with the Area Manager, you’ll shape local growth strategies and strengthen the store’s role as a trusted presence within the community.
A core focus of the role is the leadership and development of a large, diverse workforce, including both paid staff and a substantial volunteer cohort. You’ll build capability, drive volunteer engagement, and foster a culture grounded in collaboration, accountability, and inclusion.
You’ll also oversee the endtoend management of highvolume stock and donations, ensuring robust processes across intake, sorting, merchandising, compliance, and loss prevention. By maintaining strong operational systems and anticipating resource needs, you’ll create an environment where people feel supported, customers feel valued, and the store thrives as a sustainable, communityimpacting enterprise.
