A specialist role at the intersection of construction and regulatory compliance.

Due to continued growth, we're looking for a lawyer with experience in, or a strong interest in, project delivery, disputes and regulatory compliance (3-5 PQE) to join our leading Projects team in Melbourne.

Working alongside experienced construction and projects lawyers, you'll advise on major commercial and infrastructure projects across Australia.

This role offers the opportunity to work closely with clients on matters ranging from commercial and residential construction developments to large-scale infrastructure projects, providing strategic advice on regulatory compliance, contractual issues, risk management and dispute avoidance.

Whether your experience is in disputes and litigation, construction law, or public law, you'll have the opportunity to broaden your expertise and play a key role in a growing and dynamic practice.

As part of our highly regarded Projects team, you will:

  • Advise clients on compliance with building legislation, statutory processes, regulatory proceedings and appeals in the construction and infrastructure sectors

  • Advise on project strategy, contract administration, and contractual claims

  • Support clients across contentious and non-contentious matters, including civil litigation, arbitration, and alternative dispute resolution

  • Work closely with senior lawyers on high-profile and complex matters

  • Build strong relationships with leading clients across Australia and APAC

  • Develop your technical and commercial skills through exposure to market-leading work

About you

We're looking for a commercially minded lawyer who is curious, collaborative, and excited by the opportunity to work on industry-defining projects.

You will bring:

  • Australian legal qualifications and 3-5 years' post-qualification experience

  • Experience in civil litigation, and/or public law, ideally with exposure to the construction or infrastructure sectors

  • Strong drafting, analytical, and research skills with keen attention to detail

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities

  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach

  • The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • A genuine interest in working closely with clients to solve complex challenges

  • Strong academic qualifications, enthusiasm, and a commitment to ongoing professional development

About the team

Our Projects practice is recognised as one of Australia's leading construction and infrastructure teams.

We advise on some of the country's largest and most complex projects across renewable energy, transport, utilities, and social infrastructure. Working across every stage of the project lifecycle, we provide strategic, commercial, and practical advice to help clients successfully deliver critical projects.

You'll join a collaborative and supportive team where development is a genuine priority. With access to experienced mentors, meaningful client exposure, and high-quality work, you'll have every opportunity to accelerate your career and deepen your expertise.

Applications

If you're looking to move beyond traditional construction law and play a hands-on role in delivering some of the region's most significant infrastructure and energy projects, we'd love to hear from you.
