An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and strategic Program Manager - Research and Innovation to lead the delivery of transformative initiatives that will position Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD) as a global leader in healthcare innovation.
In this pivotal role, you will manage and deliver high-profile strategic projects that embed clinical trials into routine healthcare and accelerate the translation of research into clinical practice. You will play a key role in the development of landmark initiatives, including the innovative Dementia Centre at Sydney Science Park and the new Clinical Trials Centre at Nepean Hospital.
These flagship centres will strengthen NBMLHD's reputation as a leader in research and innovative clinical services, creating opportunities to improve patient outcomes while establishing the District as a destination for cutting-edge healthcare research and innovation. This is a role that will see you Lead the planning, implementation and delivery of strategic research and innovation projects across the District, Identify funding opportunities and contribute to business development strategies that enhance research capability and long-term sustainability. Your role will include the monitoring of program outcomes, manage risks and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and aligned with strategic objectives.

What you will bring to the role
- Higher degree by research and/or equivalent skills and experience in leading research in a public health context, including substantial experience in research operations, clinical services, governance, and project management.
- Substantial experience and highly developed skills in developing strategic partnerships and stakeholder engagement, driving alignment to deliver on strategic priorities.
- Extensive project management experience including the proven capacity to concurrently manage multiple projects and teams and to prioritise work to ensure the achievement of project outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to develop business cases, manage budgets, and allocate resources to support project delivery and execution of strategic priorities.
- Proven high level leadership and interpersonal skills to inspire, influence and lead high performing teams, communicating with clarity at all levels of the organisation and with external stakeholders.
- Superior ability to analyse complex information, make judgements and decisions, and initiate action, operating with a high degree of autonomy.
- Demonstrated ability to lead organisational strategic and operational planning, and development of complex project plans, and to execute planned programs of work.
- Proven skills and experience in leading change programs across a service or business unit.
