What you'll be doing
The Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 - Violence, Abuse and Neglect (CNS - VAN) provides culturally safe, high-quality medical and forensic care to people impacted by violence, abuse and neglect within a 24/7 integrated model, working closely with health, justice and community partners in line with NSW Health policy.

How to apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria in the application as thoroughly as possible:
- Being female is a genuine occupational qualification for this position as described under Section 31 of the NSW Anti-Discrimination Act, 1977.
- Current registration as a Nurse/ Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioner Agency (AHPRA) with minimum two years nursing or midwifery experience and an interest in the working in the area of sexual assault, child abuse and domestic violence.
- Demonstrate application of professional and ethical boundaries to the delivery of patient care in the context of a multidisciplinary team. Demonstration of effective interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communications skills within a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrate application of evidence based practice trauma informed care and critical thinking to advocate for and implement individualised person centred care patient care.
- Demonstrated commitment to work and partner with Aboriginal and Torres Striate Islander patients and families and employees to enhance health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients.
- Willingness to complete Graduate Certificate in Medical Forensic Management of Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence and Medical Forensic Photography.
- Evidence of participation in own professional development and commitment to maintaining competence and enhancement of skills, and willingness to apply and share professional expertise with colleagues.
- Capacity to participate and provide timely responses as a forensic medical examiner of a multidisciplinary team providing 24/7 on call responses to violence, abuse and neglect.
