Psychologist - $83,670 - $122,465 per annum

Where you'll be working
The Integrated Violence Prevention & Response Service (IVPRS) provides specialist leadership, clinical services and capacity building across child protection, sexual assault and domestic violence portfolios. Based at Blacktown Community Health Centre, you will join a highly skilled and passionate multidisciplinary team committed to supporting some of the most vulnerable members of our community.

Working within the Joint Child Protection Response Program (JCPRP), you'll collaborate closely with NSW Health, NSW Police and the Department of Communities & Justice to deliver coordinated, child-centred responses and improve safety, wellbeing and recovery outcomes for children and young people.

What you'll be doing
As the Senior Health Clinician, you will provide leadership for all NSW Health components of the Joint Child Protection Response Program. You'll play a pivotal role in coordinating complex responses, providing expert clinical guidance and ensuring children, young people and their non-offending family members receive timely, trauma-informed care and support.

Key responsibilities include:

Lead and coordinate health responses within the JCPRP, ensuring effective interagency collaboration and service delivery

Provide clinical leadership, supervision and support to the JCPRP Health Clinician and contribute to statewide projects and initiatives

Deliver and oversee crisis intervention, psychosocial support, case management, advocacy and referral pathways for children and families

Develop strategic partnerships, service plans, protocols and community engagement initiatives to improve outcomes for vulnerable children and young people

Provide expert advice on child protection, sexual assault and neglect matters while maintaining high-quality records, reporting and data management

Essential Criteria:

Qualification: Tertiary qualification in relevant field

Registration: Eligibility for appropriate professional registration or association membership

Selection Criteria:

1. Tertiary qualification (minimum bachelor degree) in Social Work, Psychology or Counselling OR Graduate Certificate in Human & Community Services (Interpersonal Trauma) and eligibility for appropriate professional registration or association membership.

2. Demonstrated high level skills, experience and use of high-level professional judgement in providing therapeutic responses to victims of sexual assault and physical abuse and neglect of children and knowledge of health service delivery and referral options for these clients.

3. Demonstrated capacity to work in partnership with key multidisciplinary and interagency stakeholders, to lead the development of therapeutic responses to meet demand and address client needs.

4. Demonstrated high level understanding of the inter-related dynamics and effects of domestic violence, sexual assault, physical abuse and neglect and a commitment to integrated models for working with clients who have experienced trauma and abuse.

5. Knowledge and understanding of current policies and legislation relating to sexual assault, physical abuse and other forms of interpersonal violence and knowledge of legal systems involved in child protection violence service provision.

6. High-level written and verbal communication skills, including interagency negotiation skills and capacity to work with autonomy under pressure, manage projects and meet deadlines.

7. Previous experience working with Aboriginal communities and/or demonstrated high level professional knowledge & understanding of issues surrounding child sexual assault, physical abuse and neglect of children and family violence in Aboriginal communities.

8. Current NSW Driver's License
