What you'll be doing
As a Wardsperson, you'll provide essential support that enables the delivery of safe, efficient and high-quality patient care. You'll work closely with nursing, clinical and support teams to ensure patients, equipment and resources are transported safely and efficiently throughout the hospital.

  • Safely transport patients using beds, trolleys and wheelchairs while applying correct manual handling techniques.

  • Assist with patient lifting, transfers and repositioning using specialised equipment to support safe and comfortable care.

  • Transport equipment, specimens, documents and furniture to help maintain efficient hospital operations.

  • Assist with mortuary duties, patient identification processes and infection prevention practices while adhering to all safety requirements.

  • Deliver outstanding customer service and work collaboratively with clinical teams to support patient flow and positive patient experiences.

  2. Demonstrated knowledge of Manual Handling and Infection control principles.

  4. Demonstrated ability to work in a diverse and physically challenging position/workload.

  5. Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to read and write in English.

  6. Ability to use electronic devices as part of the Wardspersons Department's tasking system.

  7. Capacity to work under supervision and/or independently and to undertake a diverse range of tasks as an effective team member.
