Delaware North Australia is hiring Kitchenhands to join our team at Melbourne Airport. This role combines the responsibilities of both a Sandwich Hand and a Kitchenhand, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced kitchen environment and enjoys variety in their day-to-day tasks.

Flexibility required - available for morning shifts (starting at 6am) and afternoon shifts (starting at 3pm).

What you will do?

• Prepare and assemble sandwiches, wraps, salads, and other grab-and-go items to a high standard of quality, presentation, and hygiene
• Ensure the freshness of ingredients and follow portion control and food safety guidelines
• Maintain consistent cleanliness and hygiene across all food preparation and kitchen areas
• Perform temperature checks and manage cross-contamination in line with WHS and food safety standards

• Support chefs with basic food prep tasks such as chopping, portioning ingredients, and preparing items ahead of service

• Assist with general kitchen operations, including dishwashing, sanitising equipment, and cleaning workstations
• Take ownership of cleaning duties including floors, dishes, equipment and waste management, using commercial dishwashers and cleaning chemicals safely
• Handle stock rotation, unpack deliveries and keep kitchen supplies well maintained
• Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient service during peak periods

More about you

• Previous experience in a sandwich hand or kitchenhand role is preferred
• Food Safety Certificate
• Passion and enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced environment
• Flexible availability across a 7-day roster, with the majority of shifts starting early in the morning
