DIGITAL MARKETING SPECIALIST - St Leonards, Sydney (12 Month Fixed Term Contract)

Hamilton Island is seeking an experienced and results-driven Digital Marketing Specialist to join our Sydney-based team. Reporting to the Director of Digital & Data, you'll play a pivotal role in driving direct online bookings through the strategic management of digital marketing campaigns, optimisation of booking funnels, and delivery of compelling digital content across our websites.

Where you'll make an impact

Digital Media Management

  • Plan, execute and optimise always-on digital advertising campaigns across SEM, Meta, affiliate marketing and display channels.
  • Manage relationships with digital agencies and external partners to maximise campaign performance and ROI.
  • Develop and manage campaign budgets, monitor KPIs and identify opportunities to improve performance.
  • Partner with internal teams to develop compelling creative assets and campaign messaging.
  • Implement campaign tracking and reporting to measure ROI, conversion rates, customer acquisition and overall performance.
  • Provide regular performance insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders to drive continual improvement.

Booking Funnel & Conversion Optimisation

  • Optimise the online booking journey to improve conversion rates, cross-selling and upselling opportunities.
  • Develop and implement A/B testing strategies to continuously improve website messaging and user experience.
  • Build and manage cart abandonment campaigns using booking engine data to recover potential bookings.
  • Conduct ongoing QA and UAT testing of booking platforms to ensure functionality, accuracy and an exceptional user experience.
  • Use customer and campaign data to refine acquisition and retargeting strategies, driving online bookings and revenue growth.

Content Production & Optimisation

  • Develop and support new direct booking initiatives, including exclusive online offers and package inclusions.
  • Promote "Book Direct" value propositions across all relevant digital touchpoints.
  • Create and optimise high-performing landing pages using UX best practice, audience segmentation and personalisation.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and developers to deliver engaging microsites aligned with SEO, GEO and UX best practice.
  • Develop persuasive digital content that supports campaign objectives and enhances the customer journey.
  • Analyse website performance and user behaviour to improve site structure, content and conversion outcomes.
  • Ensure websites are optimised for search engines, AI discovery and an exceptional user experience.
  • Manage SEO, GEO and UX platforms and stay abreast of emerging digital trends and technologies.

What we're looking for

The successful candidate will have proven experience in digital marketing with a focus on campaign management, conversion optimisation and content production. Strong analytical and project management skills are essential, along with the ability to work effectively with both internal stakeholders and external partners.

To be successful, you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Proficiency in digital advertising platforms (e.g., Google Ads, Meta Ads), Content Management Systems (eg. Kentico) and web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics).
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices and experience with UX/UI principles is highly advantageous
