Senior Analyst, Pricing
Global Merchant & Network Services brings together American Express' merchant and network-related businesses. This includes the management of our relationships across the globe with both the millions of merchants who accept American Express, as well as our partners in countries and territories that deliver card acceptance, issuance and innovation.
As a Senior Pricing Analyst, you will lead pricing planning and analytics across the APAC Merchant Pricing portfolio. You will own forecasting, month-end reporting and strategic analysis, delivering insights that influence senior leadership decisions while continuously improving planning processes and reporting capabilities. You will work closely with Pricing Managers both in APAC and across the globe.
This role requires a commercially minded analyst with strong analytical capability, a passion for continuous improvement, and the ability to deliver robust forecasting, reporting and insights that support strategic pricing decisions across the APAC region.

- Strong analytical and quantitative skillset with the ability to develop sophisticated pricing models and draw value-add insights from large amounts of business data
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; TM1, SQL and/or Python strongly preferred
- Proven experience leading complex projects and influencing cross-functional stakeholders
- Confident communicator with the ability to challenge constructively and develop a clear point of view
- Quantitatively oriented and highly numerate - comfortable with thinking through the "quick math"
- Problem solving, planning and analytical skills to facilitate and focus on continuous improvement and innovation
- High attention to detail with a strong risk and control mindset
- Thrives in fast-paced, matrixed environments
- Relevant graduate degree preferred
- Responsible for Discount Rate Planning and Analysis including Annual Plan and Long-Range Plan forecasts, monthly reporting and analytics
- Identify drivers of discount revenue and rate variances in order to provide meaningful insights for senior leadership including trend analysis and predictive modelling
- Present results, forecasts, findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders, translating complex analysis into clear commercial insights
- Model key industry, segment, and merchant behaviours using large account-level data sets
- Drive continuous improvement through automation, reporting optimisation and enhanced analytics, leveraging SQL, Python and BI tools to improve efficiency and insight generation
- Contribute to strategic initiatives and assist to develop relevant reporting and insights critical to pricing initiatives from ideation through to initiative measurement
- Provide support to merchant negotiations on data requirements from pricing perspective
- Build strong partnerships across Pricing, Finance, Data & Analytics and Global teams to deliver best-in-class reporting, analytics and planning capabilities
- Partner with APAC Pricing Managers to deliver actionable analytics and portfolio insights
- Work cross-functionally to source benchmarks or data for key assumptions; quickly learn relevant information and incorporate into analysis
- Identify risks, streamline processes, and embed controls to strengthen pricing governance and operational efficiency
