About the role

Part of UGL's Major Projects and joining the Unity Alliance on the Rail Systems Integration Package your role will be to plan, organise and direct the project controls and planning function. Providing project controls expertise, systems and procedures for the safe and timely delivery of projects.

Project office based in Herston.

Key responsibilities

Provide timely advice to project management regarding early and advanced warning of corrective action required to mitigate risks or capitalise on opportunities

Where contracts are awarded, ensure a comprehensive handover of the Project to the Construction Team to ensure the Project Team are adequately briefed about the program fundamental principles and details set out in the tender program

Review of the planning processes and procedures on a regular basis to ensure that they meet the business needs and future requirements

Planning of multiple projects from project team to ensure final sign off

Provide scheduling support and schedule analysis of various interfaces of the project

Assist the Project Manager to review impacts, test scenarios & propose solutions to competing programme demands

Ensuring compliance with the project's policies, objectives and statutory requirements i.e. Develop and maintain Project Controls Plan, Basis of Program

Ensure project is designed and planned to maximise efficiency and minimise construction costs

Coordinate, with the Senior Planner, the preparation of program input into project monthly reports (internal and external), including basis of program reports and EV and physical progress of the works

Monitor resource availability and allocation across various disciplines of the project

Responsible for clarifying the needs of the Construction and/or Tender Team to ensure the delivery of effective planning services for the business unit or major project.

Assisting and co-ordinating with marketing material, existing collateral and/or presentations. Preparing and reviewing tender narratives and providing input to Client interactives.

About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in relevant discipline and/or extensive construction and building industry experience

  • Demonstrated minimum 7 years project delivery and planning experience in infrastructure

  • Able to lead and manage the collaborative development and management of complex programmes

  • Excellent communicator at all levels of management including client facing

  • Experience in project planning, cost control, document control and quality systems & processes on high value projects

  • Contract & Commercial - Approach to Delay Analysis & Commercially aware.

  • Able to build, manage and maintain large planning teams
