About the Role: You will be responsible for delivering control system solutions that align with project tender specifications and Orise project delivery methodologies. Acting as a key technical representative, you will support projects across their full lifecycle, ensuring solutions are robust, cost-effective and delivered within agreed scope, budget and schedule. Your work will directly influence project quality, client satisfaction and the continuous improvement of delivery practices. Key Responsibilities: Assist with the development of control system designs in line with project tender specifications and Orise project delivery methodologies Represent Orise as the technical point of contact during consulting engagements, RFI responses, technical clarification meetings and project delivery phases Lead the development, configuration and testing of PLC, SCADA and HMI solutions using vendor-agnostic automation platforms Share technical knowledge with project delivery teams across regions to develop accurate, segment-specific solutions for customer requirements Contribute to technical retrospectives and feedback sessions to improve operational effectiveness and delivery processes Monitor project and task budgets for design, documentation, programming, installation and commissioning activities to ensure work is completed within financial and schedule constraints Perform Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and on-site commissioning activities Execute tasks related to the technical scope of projects in delivery, ensuring compliance with specifications, standards and quality requirements Key Requirements: Proven experience as a Controls/Automation Engineer working across the full project lifecycle Strong hands-on experience with PLC, SCADA and HMI development and implementation Demonstrated ability to interpret and work from tender specifications, functional descriptions and detailed design documents Experience representing an engineering or systems integrator organisation in technical meetings with clients and stakeholders Solid understanding of project delivery methodologies, including scope management, budgeting and scheduling for engineering tasks Strong troubleshooting and commissioning skills for industrial control systems Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders Ability to work independently in a contract environment, managing workload and priorities across multiple projects Desirable Skills: Experience with multiple major automation platforms (e.g. Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider, etc.) in vendor-agnostic environments Background in sectors such as manufacturing, resources, utilities, or infrastructure Familiarity with industry standards and best practices for safety, reliability and cyber security in control systems Experience working in multi-region or multi-site project delivery teams Exposure to continuous improvement initiatives and feedback-driven process enhancements Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, Control Systems or a related discipline Relevant trade or diploma qualifications in industrial automation or control systems (for candidates with strong practical experience) Professional engineering affiliation or eligibility (e.g. Engineers Australia) preferred Vendor or industry certifications in PLC/SCADA/HMI platforms advantageous If you're a capable Controls Engineer seeking a contract role where you can own delivery and make a visible impact, apply now to explore this opportunity.
