Job Description Step into a high-impact contract role where your controls engineering expertise directly shapes complex industrial projects across Melbourne. Joining a respected engineering consultancy, you'll work on varied client engagements, representing a trusted brand while solving real-world automation and control challenges. About the Role: In this role, you will support the development and delivery of control system designs aligned with project tender specifications and Orise project delivery methodologies. You'll act as a key technical representative to clients, ensuring requirements are clearly understood and translated into robust engineering solutions. Your contribution will enhance the performance of project delivery teams and improve the reliability and effectiveness of customer systems. Key Responsibilities: Assist with the development of control system designs in line with project tender specifications and Orise project delivery standards. Represent Orise as the technical point of contact during consulting engagements, RFIs, technical clarification meetings, and throughout project delivery. Collaborate with project teams to develop engineering solutions that address specific customer needs and functional requirements. Provide engineering advice and support to diagnose and resolve technical issues during design, implementation, and commissioning phases. Share technical knowledge with project delivery teams across regions to develop accurate, segment-specific solutions. Contribute to technical retrospectives and feedback sessions to improve operational effectiveness and delivery methodologies. Deliver on-call services and maintenance support, including updates and fault resolution, via a call-out roster for SLA customers. Key Requirements: Proven experience as a Controls Engineer or similar role within industrial automation, manufacturing, or related environments. Strong background in control system design, implementation, and troubleshooting. Experience interpreting and working to project tender specifications and functional requirements. Demonstrated ability to interface with clients in technical discussions, clarifications, and consulting engagements. Solid problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve control system issues. Effective communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary project teams and sharing technical knowledge. Willingness to participate in an on-call roster and provide after-hours support to SLA customers. Desirable Skills: Experience with common PLC/SCADA platforms and industrial communication protocols. Exposure to multi-site or multi-region project delivery environments. Background in continuous improvement of engineering processes and delivery methodologies. Familiarity with safety instrumented systems or functional safety standards. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or a related engineering discipline. Professional engineering accreditation or eligibility for membership with a relevant engineering body (preferred). Additional certifications in industrial automation, control systems, or related technologies (advantageous).
