We are now seeking a Reliability Principal to provide Reliability Engineering support for the Maintenance Execution Teams and Wagon Engineering in their area of operation. The purpose of the Reliability Principal is to improve the reliability of the Pacific National rolling stock fleets, improve availability and reduce maintenance costs in line with reliability centered maintenance principals and condition monitoring techniques. This role will facilitate reliability engineering support to PN Bulk business responsible for moving bulk commodities (i.e. Grain, Industrial Products, & Containerised Minerals). What You'll Do Act as a technical expert and key reference for leading practices in utilising condition monitoring processes to improve efficiencies (reduce train disruption) and improve safety (prevent rollingstock incidents / accidents). Develop reliability initiatives for reliability growth model. Monitor in-service incidents across the Pacific National business to identify, classify, trend and report on reliability incidents. Provide front line support to Maintenance Execution Teams on reliability investigations where failure modes are aligned to current maintenance tactics. Liaise with SMEs in Engineering and other areas of Pacific National to develop reliability improvement scopes of work and programmes for improvement to fleet performance. Advise and confer with Wagon and Locomotive Engineers in design review meetings to give reliability findings and recommendations. Review engineering specifications and drawings, proposing design modifications to improve reliability within cost and other performance requirements. Prepare and deliver technical evaluation and due diligence briefings to senior management for projects and process improvement through condition monitoring value identification. What You'll Bring Tertiary qualification in mechanical, electrical or condition monitoring related engineering discipline with a minimum of 4 years industry experience on maintenance & reliability engineering and condition monitoring of equipment. Demonstrated experience in the application of Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis. Demonstrated experiences in the application of Reliability Centered Maintenance. Demonstrated experience in the understanding and application of condition monitoring in the rail industry. A demonstrated understanding of the rail environment, including operational and maintenance cycle value. Knowledge of the American Association Railroads (AAR) & Railway of Australia Standards (ROA).
