Technology Service Owner
What's the Role:
The Technology Service Owner is accountable for the end-to-end ownership, stability, performance, and governance of a defined technology service or platform. This role ensures services are resilient, secure, compliant, and aligned to business objectives, while driving continuous improvement and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own end-to-end lifecycle of technology services, including accountability for performance, availability, and risk
- Ensure operational stability through strong incident, problem, and change management practices, including major incident leadership
- Maintain high service reliability and performance aligned to SLAs, SLOs, and KPIs, with ongoing monitoring and optimisation
- Manage risk, security, and compliance requirements, including disaster recovery, resilience planning, and audit remediation
- Engage with stakeholders across business, engineering, and leadership, providing clear updates on service health and roadmap
- Drive continuous improvement through automation, modernisation, and adoption of cloud, AI, and DevOps best practices
What do I need?
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, APIs, cloud platforms, and digital application environments
- Experience working in production support, SRE, or platform engineering settings
- Familiarity with monitoring tools, incident management processes, and CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge of technology risk, compliance, audit processes, and frameworks such as ITIL and SRE
- Strong stakeholder management with the ability to influence and communicate across technical and business audiences
- Proven ability to lead and coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver outcomes
