The Opportunity We are looking for a motivated CHPP Maintenance Technician - Equipment Inspector (Mechanical) to play a key role in maintaining the reliability and performance of our Coal Handling and Preparation Plant (CHPP). Working closely with maintenance, planning and engineering teams, you'll inspect equipment, identify defects, develop work scopes and help ensure maintenance activities are planned and executed safely and efficiently. Responsibilities Inspect mechanical equipment and identify defects and improvement opportunities. Develop detailed work scopes from inspections, condition monitoring and engineering recommendations. Ensure maintenance work is planned, documented and ready for execution. Support shutdown planning, scheduling and maintenance coordination. Work with engineering teams to develop repair strategies and improve equipment reliability. Review completed work to ensure it meets required standards. Assist with risk assessments, root cause analysis (RCA) investigations and continuous improvement initiatives. Prepare change management documentation and material requests. Provide support across other equipment inspector roles and assist with breakdown and troubleshooting work when required. Qualifications and experience Mechanical or fabrication trade qualification. CHPP and/or infrastructure maintenance experience. Experience preparing job scopes and supporting maintenance planning. Experience using CMMS systems (Pulse or similar). Knowledge of Australian Standards related to structural integrity and welding. A basic understanding of non-destructive testing (NDT). Strong planning, organisation and problem-solving skills. Strong communicated and computer skills, including Microsoft Office. A strong commitment to safety and continuous improvement. Remote Pilot Licence (RePL) or willingness to obtain.
