The Role


The vision for South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) is 'exceptional care, healthier lives'. SESLHD is committed to enabling our community to be healthy and well, and to providing the best possible compassionate care when people need it.

The Manager, Administration, Outpatients will coordinate and manage the day to day staffing and operations of the centralised outpatient service to facilitate delivery of quality, cost effective services and the achievement of business and service objectives. The Manager oversees administrative functions in the centralised outpatient service, including the Professorial Suite.
Where you'll be working

Prince of Wales Hospital and Community Health Service is a Level 6 Tertiary Referral Hospital with an inpatient bed base of 370. Each year we care for more than 70,000 patients in our Emergency Department and have around 50,000 admissions to the inpatient units. POWH offers an outpatient service and rural outreach service and provides more than 900,000 occasions of non-admitted patient care each year, including innovative virtual models of care. We have transitioned the majority of inpatient units and wards to the Acute Services Building (ASB) including a state of the art Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit. POWH provides an exceptional staff experience and enhanced patient and family outcomes as a result of the provision of person-centred care.

Selection Criteria

  1. Relevant tertiary qualifications in health information or administration, or relevant equivalent work experience, or a combination of study and work experience
  2. Demonstrated ability to perform a range of management and administrative tasks, monitoring and managing work priorities to enable adjustments to workflow to deliver a quality patient-centric service
  3. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of clinical information systems in a medical environment, including reporting; data management and data quality
  4. Demonstrated ability to determine priorities for others, delegate tasks and monitor work performance of staff to achieve work objectives
  5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong customer service approach
  6. Demonstrated experience and understanding of revenue processes
