We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Peer Support Worker to join our Mental Health team. This is a unique opportunity to use your own lived experience of Mental Health challenges and recovery to support consumers on their recovery journey.
As a Peer Support Worker, you will play a vital role in fostering hope, empowerment and recovery-oriented practice by providing support, advocacy and education from a lived experience perspective. Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, you will help ensure services remain person-centered, strengths-based, and recovery focused.

What you will bring to the role
- Personal experience as a consumer of Mental Health services and ability to utilise the lived experience to support others in their own Mental Health recovery journey.
- Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work (carer), or qualifications in health or other relevant qualification, e.g. degree, diploma or certificate, or readiness to work towards. Current Driver's Licence and willingness to use for work purpose travel.
- Understanding of and commitment to recovery-oriented services and consumer involvement in service design, implementation and evaluation
- Ability to work effectively across community and inpatient settings.
- Experience in working collaboratively with individuals and groups including the multidisciplinary team; and ability to build and maintain effective relationships with external providers, consumers and carers.
- Demonstrated effective negotiation, time management, and written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent computing skills, ability to use Microsoft applications in an office setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to plan, implement and evaluate group and individual peer led interventions.
