Jord International
St Leonards,New South Wales,Australia,2065 Full Time
Reference: 135_751075_361

Launch your engineering career working on world-class mining, energy and oil and gas projects

  • Work alongside experienced Project Managers and senior engineers who will mentor your development
  • Gain hands-on experience across the complete project lifecycle from concept and design through to manufacturing, commissioning and client handover
  • Join a growing international engineering company with opportunities to work across Australia, Asia, the Middle East and the Americas

At Jord, we don't expect graduates to know everything on day one. We're looking for curious engineers who are eager to learn.

As a Graduate Project Engineer, you'll be immersed in real projects from the beginning, working with experienced engineers who will help you develop both your technical and commercial skills. You'll gain exposure to engineering design, procurement, manufacturing, quality, project management, client interaction and site commissioning, giving you a foundation that few graduate roles can offer.

Every project is different. One week you might be reviewing engineering drawings and working with suppliers, the next you'll be involved in project planning, visiting fabrication workshops or supporting commissioning activities on site. You'll quickly develop an understanding of how large-scale engineering projects are delivered from start to finish.

What You'll Learn

During your graduate journey you'll gain practical experience in:

  • Engineering design coordination and technical documentation
  • Project planning, scheduling and risk management
  • Procurement and supplier management
  • Manufacturing and quality assurance processes
  • Client communication and stakeholder management
  • Commercial awareness and project financials
  • Site commissioning and project delivery
  • Working with multidisciplinary engineering teams

Your Responsibilities

Working alongside experienced Project Managers, you'll:

  • Support the delivery of engineering projects from award through to completion
  • Assist with project planning and execution activities
  • Coordinate engineering documentation and technical submissions
  • Work with suppliers to obtain quotations and manage procurement activities
  • Support project reporting, scheduling and risk management
  • Liaise with engineers, fabricators, suppliers and clients
  • Assist with quality, manufacturing and commissioning activities
  • Continuously develop your technical and commercial capability

About You

We're looking for someone who is excited to build a career in engineering. You will have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A willingness to learn and take on new challenges
  • Curiosity about how complex engineering projects come together
  • A collaborative attitude and desire to work as part of a high-performing team

Previous engineering internships, practical mechanical experience or involvement in engineering projects at university will be highly regarded but are not essential.

Why Start Your Career at Jord?

Unlike many graduate programs where you'll work on one small part of a project, at Jord you'll gain exposure to the entire engineering lifecycle.

You'll work alongside experienced industry professionals on technically challenging projects for some of the world's leading mining, energy and oil and gas companies. We believe the best way to develop engineers is by giving them real responsibility, practical experience and strong mentorship from day one.

As your skills grow, so will your opportunities. Many of our engineers have progressed into Project Engineer, Senior Project Engineer and Project Manager roles, leading major international projects and working with clients around the world.
