Apply Job no: XGKFE The Role Cockburn Cement is seeking a safety-focused and mechanically minded Fixed Plant Operator to join our operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a fixed continuous production plant, converting Quicklime through a hydration process into finished Milk of Lime product. You will play an important role in maintaining product quality, meeting customer requirements and ensuring production runs safely, efficiently and to specification. This opportunity would suit someone with hands-on experience in fixed production, batching plant or heavy industrial operations, along with the ability to assist with basic mechanical repairs and troubleshooting. You will be joining a small, supportive and experienced team where safety, reliability and teamwork are highly valued. Responsibilities Operate the production plant safely and efficiently in line with Adbri standards, site procedures and regulatory requirements. Convert Quicklime through the hydration process into finished Milk of Lime product. Load bulk tankers with Hydrated Lime and Milk of Lime products. Conduct product sampling and complete basic quality testing. Monitor plant performance and assist with troubleshooting equipment or process issues. Ensure production orders are completed on time and within specification. Follow process control requirements and maintain accurate operational records. Liaise with the customer service team to support customer orders and delivery requirements. Monitor product stock levels to support continuous production. Identify opportunities to reduce waste, improve efficiency and support continuous improvement. Work both independently and as part of a small operational team. About You To be successful in this role, you will bring: A valid WA Driver's Licence. Demonstrated experience operating fixed plant, batching plant or production equipment. Strong commitment to workplace health and safety. Good mechanical aptitude and the ability to assist with basic troubleshooting. Sound attention to detail and ability to follow process controls. Basic computer skills, including MS Office, Excel and email. First Aid Certificate, including LV Rescue and CPR. Quality control, product sampling or testing experience, desirable but not essential. Preferred, but not essential Valid Forklift Licence. Forklift and plant operation experience in a heavy industrial environment. Confined Space Entry certification. Working Safely at Heights certification. Equipment and Process Isolation training.
