About the role

We have an opportunity for a Senior ICT Assurance Officer to be part of our Project Management Office, Technology & Communication Services Command. The role leads the planning, coordination, and scheduling of external and internal assurance reviews for digital projects within the ICT Portfolio, operating as part of the Project Management Office. It provides specialist guidance to project sponsors and key stakeholders to strengthen governance, collaboration, uplift capability, and drive continuous improvement. This role is a key contributor to developing assurance methodologies, enhancing portfolio outcomes, and supporting best practices.

In this role, you will:

  • Contribute to the delivery of major, high-profile ICT and digital programs that support the transformation of policing across NSW, including initiatives subject to NSW Government assurance and Treasury oversight.
  • Liaise directly with NSW Treasury and central agencies to support compliance with the NSW Government Digital Assurance Framework (DAF) and associated reporting requirements
  • Plan, facilitate and manage Gateway Reviews and Health Checks, ensuring reviews are aligned to key project milestones and provide meaningful, independent insights on delivery confidence
  • Coordinate with independent review panels and subject matter experts, managing end-to-end assurance activities including planning, stakeholder engagement, interviews and reporting
  • Deliver clear, evidence-based assurance reports to senior executives and governance forums, highlighting delivery risks, issues and recommended corrective actions
  • Strengthen accountability and transparency in the management of public funding by ensuring robust governance, risk management and reporting practices
  • Work collaboratively across a complex ICT environment, engaging with program and project teams, PMO functions, and specialist areas including cyber security, architecture and infrastructure
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of assurance practices, frameworks and reporting within a mature enterprise PMO environment
