Assistant Accountant

Purpose

As our Assistant Accountant, you won't simply be crunching numbers; you will be an essential member of our dynamic team. You will assist in the efficient running of the Finance Department, maintaining accurate and timely records. To liaise closely with properties and departments to ensure efficient procedures are being implemented and followed.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Performs daily bank reconciliations
  • Performs bank transfers and refunds
  • Assists accounting team during EOM process and P&L review
  • Reconcile Balance Sheets
  • Raise monthly invoices
  • Ensures timely collection of aged debt
  • Reconciles BAS and FBT
  • Provides cluster transactional support across the Leases and HMA network
  • Ensures properties are following prescribed financial procedures and processes
  • Supports the Area Finance team in daily and annual audit requirements when required
  • Performs any other duties as directed by the Accountant or Area Finance/Finance Manager

Skills and Experience

  • A relevant degree in accounting or commerce
  • Previous hospitality experience, preferably in finance, night audit or as duty manager
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • A proactive nature, providing timely information to the Finance Manager
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
