We're seeking an experienced environmental professional to strengthen our assurance capability and help uplift environmental performance across the organisation. About the role As a Specialist - Environment, you will lead and deliver risk-based environmental assurance and audit programs, ensuring our processes, projects and assets meet regulatory requirements and internal standards. You will provide trusted advice to operational and project teams, helping embed environmental controls and drive continuous improvement. This is a key permanent role within the Environmental business unit, influencing how we manage environmental risk, demonstrate compliance, and deliver on our sustainability commitments. Who are we? What you can expect with this role In this role, you'll act as trusted advisor, providing balanced, practical, and commercially aware guidance to: Deliver a contemporary environmental assurance program that moves beyond compliance to providing confidence in how environmental risk is managed Lead assurance activities to verify that controls are effective at site, project and system level Challenge and support capital project teams to ensure environmental commitments are fully understood, resourced and delivered Contribute to the simplification and standardisation of processes so they are fit-for-purpose, auditable and consistently applied Drive improvements to how environmental requirements are embedded, tracked and verified within business systems Coach and influence leaders and teams to improve their understanding of environmental requirements and build organisational capability in assurance, compliance and control effectiveness Your skills and experience Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline Strong working knowledge of WA and Federal environmental legislation, with the ability to interpret regulatory obligations and communicate controls in the delivery of projects Experience in environmental assurance or compliance roles within utilities, mining, infrastructure or similar industries Demonstrated ability to assess control effectiveness, identify gaps and support risk-based improvements Experience supporting the development and rollout of systems, processes and tools to drive consistent and effective environmental practices across a complex organisation Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and influence outcomes across teams Well-developed communication skills, including the ability to present clear, concise and fit-for-purpose advice and reporting Sound like a match?
