About the Role

You will be working at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. It is one of the nation's most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history of serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities. Our facilities and services are world class and our staff are dedicated, innovative and caring.

To provide senior clinical leadership and team management within Adult Drug Court, Drug Health Services. The position will also support the mentoring and development of staff and carries a clinical caseload. The social worker Level 4 will be expected to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team with a number of stakeholders, including Justice Health and Downing Centre Local Court, and case manage clients for up to 12 months who have been accepted onto the Adult Drug Court Program.

Ideal Candidate

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent in Social Work which provides eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
  • Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge, skill and significant clinical experience in the provision of Social Work services in the field of Drug & Alcohol.
  • Extensive experience and demonstrated ability in building and maintaining professional and therapeutic relationships through the application of written, verbal, interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply and share expert drug & alcohol knowledge with colleagues and other health professionals to enhance service delivery.
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to identify opportunities and innovatively lead the planning, implementation and evaluation of service delivery incorporating continuous improvement, evidence based practice and research in drug health services.
  • Demonstrated extensive experience in the provision of clinical supervision, mentoring and development of junior staff and students.
  • Demonstrated high level organisational, prioritisation and time management skills in an environment of competing clinical/administrative demands.
  • Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills including collaborative stakeholder consultation.
