National Contract Logistics Distribution Manager
It's more than a job
The National Contract Logistics Distribution Manager is responsible for leading and optimising the end-to-end domestic distribution network across Australia.
This role plays a critical part in ensuring customer service excellence, cost efficiency, safety compliance, and continuous improvement across all transport and distribution activities.
Working closely with internal operations teams, customers, carriers, and senior stakeholders, you will drive strategic network performance while ensuring a consistent and scalable distribution model aligned to business growth.
How you create impact
- Lead and manage the national distribution network to ensure optimal performance, cost efficiency, and service excellence.
- Drive achievement of agreed customer service levels, operational KPIs, and budget targets.
- Ensure full compliance with internal safety standards and external regulatory requirements across all distribution activities.
- Analyse transport and distribution network performance and implement strategies to improve efficiency, scalability, and sustainability.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce cost-to-serve, and improve customer experience.
- Partner with key internal stakeholders including Contract Logistics operations, customer teams, and finance to align service delivery with business objectives.
- Manage external stakeholders including carriers, transport providers, and strategic partners.
- Develop and embed standardised processes across the distribution network to ensure consistency and governance.
- Lead, coach, and develop distribution teams to build capability and strengthen succession planning.
What we would like you to bring
- 8-12 years' experience in transport, distribution, logistics, or supply chain leadership roles.
- Strong background in managing large-scale distribution or transport networks (national or multi-site preferred).
- Proven experience in cost control, service delivery, and operational performance management.
- Strong analytical capability with experience in network optimisation or transport strategy.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams and driving performance outcomes.
- Strong stakeholder management skills across internal and external partners.
- Experience in Contract Logistics or 3PL environments highly regarded.
- Strong understanding of safety, compliance, and transport regulations.
