This role offers the opportunity to lead the People & Culture (P&C) Domain's technical team, driving strategic initiatives and service improvements that directly impact the University's operational success. You will be at the forefront of shaping the future of VU's Human Capital Management (HCM) platform, ensuring it aligns with business needs and delivers value across the University community.

About The Role:

As the Technical Lead for the P&C Domain, you will provide expert technical leadership and direction for the delivery of services and projects within the P&C team. Your role will involve managing system roadmaps, prioritising initiatives, and overseeing project delivery to ensure cost-effective, high-quality outcomes. You will foster strong relationships with business stakeholders, vendors, and cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and innovation within Digital and Campus Services.

Position Key Duties:

- Lead and manage the P&C Technical team to achieve operational and project delivery objectives aligned with University goals.

- Provide expert technical advice and develop strategic roadmaps for the HCM platform and related P&C systems.

- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and protocols that comply with University legislative and policy requirements.

- Plan and oversee business process redesign, technology implementation, data migration, and system decommissioning projects.

- Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with internal clients, external vendors, and government agencies.

- Manage vendor partnerships in line with procurement policies and supplier relationship frameworks.

- Identify and drive opportunities for automation, optimisation, and cost reduction within the P&C Domain.

- Foster a high-performing team culture focused on service excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Position Details:

Classification: HEP 10

Salary: $142,441 - Plus 17% Super

Employment Type: Full Time - Ongoing/Permanent

Hours per Week: 36.75/1 FTE

Location: Footscray Park Campus - 3 days on-site

About You:

- Proven leadership experience in IT service delivery or IT general management within a large, complex environment.

- Strong technical expertise in managing Human Capital Management (HCM) platforms and related business systems.

- Demonstrated ability to develop strategic roadmaps, manage projects, and deliver operational improvements.

- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills with a customer-focused mindset.

- Experience leading and developing high-performing teams in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
