This opportunity is available on a full-time, part-time or casual basis.

About the Role

As an Assistant Project Manager, you will work alongside experienced project managers to support the planning, coordination and delivery of projects across a variety of sectors, with a particular focus on Defence and Australian Government projects.

You will gain exposure to all stages of the project lifecycle while developing practical skills in project planning, stakeholder engagement, procurement, contract administration and project delivery.

Key responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting with the planning, coordination and delivery of projects.
  • Supporting project reporting, scheduling and risk management activities.
  • Assisting with procurement and contract administration processes.
  • Engaging with clients, contractors and project stakeholders.
  • Monitoring project progress against scope, budget and program objectives.
  • Supporting project managers to deliver successful project outcomes.

About You

We are looking for an Aboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander person who is motivated, curious and eager to build a career in project management.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A degree qualification, or be currently studying towards a degree, in Construction, Property, Engineering, Project Management or a related discipline; or
  • A relevant Certificate IV, Diploma or Advanced Diploma from TAFE or another recognised training provider, or be currently studying towards one.

You will also demonstrate:

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively within a team.
  • A genuine interest in project management and professional development.
  • Australian Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a minimum Baseline Security Clearance.
