The Role
We’re seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our team at Abervale Village in a permanent part-time role. This position focuses on maintaining our serviced apartments, ensuring each space is clean, comfortable, and welcoming for residents.
Located in the leafy suburb of Grovedale, Abervale Village offers a relaxed, refined lifestyle for residents and a supportive, friendly workplace for our team.
In this role, you’ll play an important part in creating inviting living environments that support the wellbeing and everyday enjoyment of our residents. You’ll work within beautifully maintained surroundings, alongside a team that takes pride in delivering high-quality service.
Shifts will involve working Monday to Friday, 8am – 12:30pm.
Reporting to the Village Manager, your duties will include:
- Delivering high-quality cleaning services across common areas and resident apartments in line with set schedules and standards
- Supporting other duties as needed, including managing laundry tasks including washing and handling of sheets, towels and bed making
- Providing excellent customer service when interacting with residents, balancing requests with daily duties
- Maintaining presentation and hygiene standards to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment
- Identifying and promptly reporting any cleanliness, maintenance, or safety issues to management
- Using cleaning equipment and supplies in accordance with approved standards
- Reporting incidents, injuries, and hazards, and follow appropriate procedures
About You
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Previous experience in housekeeping or domestic cleaning (preferred), with a willingness to learn and develop on the job
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment and its safe, effective use
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
- The ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines
- A current First Aid and CPR Certificate, or willingness to obtain
- A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to take initiative
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence working autonomously
