About the role:
As the Director, Board Secretariat and Office of the Chief Executive, you will lead the provision of high-quality governance, secretariat and executive support to the SALHN Governing Board, Board Committees and Executive Leadership Committee.
Working in a pivotal leadership role, you will facilitate effective governance by coordinating the flow of information, advice and decisions between the SALHN Governing Board, Executive Leadership and the Department for Health and Wellbeing. You will oversee the planning and delivery of Board and Committee meetings, ensuring the timely preparation of agendas, papers, briefings and governance documentation.
You will also prepare high-level executive correspondence and strategic documentation on behalf of the Governing Board, including reports, presentations, briefings and research papers to support informed decision-making.
In addition, you will lead the operations and performance of the Office of the Chief Executive, driving continuous improvement, fostering a high-performing team and ensuring the delivery of responsive, professional executive support across the organisation.
To be successful in the role, you will demonstrate:
- Extensive experience providing high-level executive and secretariat support to Boards, Committees or Executive Leadership teams, including agenda development, preparation of Board papers, minute taking and coordination of follow-up actions.
- Proven ability to manage sensitive, complex and time-critical matters with professionalism, discretion and sound judgement while delivering high-quality outcomes.
- Experience building and maintaining effective working relationships with executives, senior leaders and a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and influence others, foster collaboration, drive continuous improvement and effectively lead teams through change.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing high-quality executive correspondence, reports, briefings and presentations.
- A sound understanding of contemporary Board governance principles, with the ability to lead the Office of the Chief Executive and ensure the delivery of effective governance and executive support services.
