THE POSITION:
Under the broad guidance of the Team Leader, this position will drive strategic workforce planning through the development and implementation of a workforce management approach to suit the local government industry. Consulting with key stakeholders within the organisation to determine resourcing requirements and capabilities will be a strong focus in developing this key strategic function.

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:
- Based on a 35-hour week, working a minimum of 17.5 hours per week with actual days and times being negotiated with supervisor.
- The position is temporary for a period of up to 2 years
- Additional hours up to 35 hours per week may be worked by agreement, and this will be paid at the ordinary rate of pay.
- On occasions there will be a requirement to attend meetings and events outside of normal business hours.
- This position does not require you to wear a compulsory uniform, however you must follow the dress code requirements within the AlburyCity's Our People Dress Code Standards. Our People are required to present a smart and professional image to the public at all times including when in public and when working remotely.
- This position involves working in a predominantly indoor environment and using a computer is considered a core component of the role. There may be occasional visits to other work locations. The position requires an average level of aerobic and physical fitness to undertake occasional physical activities, such as walking and lifting, along with general manual handling tasks as part of a normal working environment. A medical assessment is required for this position.
- This position requires the employee to lodge an annual Pecuniary Interest Return.
- This position is delegated with certain powers, authorities, duties and functions of Council under the AlburyCity Delegations of Authority in accordance with section 378 of the Local Government Act.
- This position is subject to alcohol and other drug testing.
- This position is based at the AlburyCity Administration Building, 553 Kiewa Street, Albury however will include working regularly from City of Wodonga offices in Hovell St, Wodonga and occasional visits to other external sites/depots across both cities as required.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Class C Drivers Licence

- Proven experience in workforce planning, or resource management

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- develop our workforce management approach and enhance our approach to strategic workforce planning.
- support the implementation and initial use of the workforce module within, Councils HR Information System
- support workforce planning and talent management activities across AlburyCity
- deliver high quality planning and forecasting data and trends to drive talent decision-making and activities across council.
- partner with our leaders to better understand and plan for their future workforce needs.
- apply key insights and design thinking to facilitate, implement and continuously iterate effective resource planning capability across the organisation to ensure the right person is in the right role at the right time with close alignment to the 4 year and 1 year planning processes.
- Through various data sources Build a comprehensive forward-looking view of the organisation's workforce needs.
- Provide insight into the key drivers, demographic shifts, key projects and strategies and policy developments that may affect the availability and cost of talent
- Provide advice and assist in the development of program and project plans, resource requirements and strategic analysis and research for business growth
- Supports the Talent team in the execution of full end-to-end workforce planning engagement, including the facilitation of stakeholder meetings, data analysis, and the creation of compelling presentations to communicate key findings
- Leading the design and implementation of strategic and workforce planning for the organisation
- Perform other tasks or duties as directed by the Supervisor which are within the limits of the employee's skill, competence and training.
